Reflexology

Reflexology is becoming more and more relevant for today’s increasingly stressful lifestyle.  It is based on skills that we know were practiced for several thousand years by the Chinese and the ancient Egyptians. Reflexology involves massage to special reflex areas on the feet (and less commonly today, on the hands). The reflex areas form a “map” of every organ and body system (see photo). By massaging/working these areas, we believe it is possible to offer a way of treating the whole body. This natural therapy allows us not only to address symptoms, but also the causes of symptoms.

We do not claim that reflexology is a ‘cure-all’ but many people have found it very helpful. My clients find that the soothing, calming and relaxing nature of the therapy assists their emotional well-being, especially during times of illness, pain and stress. Furthermore, as a result of this reduction in tension, reflexology often helps aid sleep. People of all ages, from the young to the elderly, can enjoy reflexology.

Reflexology can be safely used in pregnancy from conception to labour (Maternity Reflexology).  It can also be used to help support couples who are trying to conceive (Reproflexology).  Even those undergoing assisted fertility treatments such as IUI/IVF/ICSI.  It is such a versatile therapy that a technique called Reflexology Lymph Drainage(RLD) was recently developed which may help with excess fluid in cases of lymphoedema and lipo-lymphoedema. Gentle Touch Reflexology uses the lightest of touches but is deeply effective.

Reflexology can be combined with other treatments such as Aromatherapy Massage, Reiki Healing and Hot Stone Massage.  Or you could book a Luxury Reflexology Treatment which includes a foot spa treatment, buff and a softening treatment with pampering Tropic Products.
